Mission Statement
Reimagine Grief is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded to provide school-based bereavement support to children and those that care for them. Our programs are made possible by the support of our caring community and are offered free of charge to schools and community partners. Every dollar donated goes directly into the program as our facilitators are volunteer-based.
About Us
Reimagine Grief was founded to create a space for grieving children who–due to a variety of barriers–are unable to access community grief support centers in their area. We provide free six-week small-group sessions directly at the child’s school to help break down the barriers to access support. Our facilitators use evidence-based, family-focused practice and theory to guide students of all ages through their grief and loss, paving the way for healing and hope for the entire family.
How You Can Help
Give
Reimagine grief is committed to creating a community where all children have access to grief support regardless of social barriers. Through our programs and initiatives, we aim to be an accessible resource for children and those that care for them to gain knowledge and confidence in supporting all through their grief journey. By choosing to give to Reimagine Grief, you are directly contributing to the growth and healing of children, their families, and generations to come.
Start A Conversation
In Florida, it is estimated that 356,000 children will experience the death of a parent or sibling before they turn 18 years old. The loss and grief that follow affect a child emotionally and behaviorally, placing them at high risk for academic and social issues. Start a conversation with your team on ways your space can be made into a place where children are supported to explore their grief. If you get stuck, we can help!
